Black River is the third instalment of a series that has breathed new life into Scandi Noir and Tuva is a wonderfully crafted heroine whom it is easy to cheer for. The sense of foreboding slowly builds throughout the novel before Dean delivers a cracking finale

Dean has created an electric and relatable character who has been through the tragedy of losing both her parents but comes back stronger and more resilient time and time again... The writing successfully created a claustrophobic feel... an all-round successful creep-fest... if you're an old faithful fan or a new reader of Will Dean, Black River will have you hooked
A riveting mystery, one of those stories that gives you the impression that the answer is staring you in the face, tantalisingly, teasingly close at hand and yet you can't see the wood for the trees... Reading Black River is an immersive experience... tense and wrought with danger
