What you’ll be doing
A great opportunity has arisen to join HCG as Executive Assistant to the CEO and Senior Management Team. Reporting to the CEO, you will have responsibility for senior-level administrative, events and PA support for members of the Senior Management Team, as directed and supported by the CEO, as well as the diary management and a variety of other confidential and organisational tasks for the CEO.
The successful candidate will be joining a goal-oriented, ambitious and energetic team in a growing area of the business and will be able to make a significant personal contribution to the life of the division and will gain a unique insight into both commercial and managerial issues.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will be highly organised, demonstrably proficient in Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and easily able to adapt to using other systems. They will be confident and articulate when communicating in person and in writing, easily able to manage the creation of presentations in multiple formats, chase responses and materials from colleagues at all levels and sensitive to issues of confidentiality and key business relationships both internal and external.
The Executive Assistant is expected to and will enjoy working independently and with a high level of autonomy while communicating the outputs of their work regularly, appropriately and accurately. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role, not necessarily in book publishing, but some knowledge of and demonstrable interest in the broader creative industries will be useful.
This is not a suitable role for anyone seeking a first role in book publishing without proven previous office and administrative experience supporting a senior management role / senior team.

The role will begin working from home due to ongoing Covid19 restrictions, but once normality resumes this role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
