Here at Mulholland, we're busy gearing up for the publication of a very exciting book indeed. Lexicon is the new novel from Max Barry, the author of cult hit Jennifer Government, and has been described by SciFi Now as "highly entertaining and engrossing". It follows Emily Ruff as she enters into an elite organisation of 'poets': masters of manipulation who use language to warp others to their will, as well as Wil Parke who doesn't know why he's immune to their powers, only that he has to run from them. Elisabeth Smith

Elisabeth Smith was born and educated in Germany. She studied English at Hamburg University with a teaching career in mind, and well before EU days was offered her first assignment at a London prep school. While on contract in Africa she became sidetracked by commerce. She spent the next ten years learning about printing and publishing in Zambia before joining a publishing house in Johannesburg where she ultimately became the company's chief executive. In spite of climbing the corporate ladder she never lost her interest and skills in teaching languages. John Knell (Author) John Knell, along with Richard Reeves, are co-founders of the Intelligence Agency, a strategy and research consultancy. Jordan Belfort

Larry Downes is an Internet industry analyst and author on developing business strategies in the age of disruptive innovation. He is the co-author of Big Bang Disruption and author of New York Times business best-seller, Unleashing the Killer App: Digital Strategies for Market Dominance, (1998) which was named by The Wall Street Journal as one of the five most important books ever published on business and technology. Lorraine Justice

Lorraine Justice is Professor of Industrial Design and the former Dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She is a Fellow of the Industrial Designers' Society of America (IDSA) and was named one of the top 40 designers to watch by ID Magazine. She was also named one of the top 50 in product design in 2016. She serves on six editorial boards for Design Journals around the world and as an advisor to global design institutions. Justice is also a consultant to multinational corporations such as Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Compuserv, Lutron, Proctor and Gamble, Levi's and NCR. She is also the Director of the East West Center for Design Research, with centres in China and Italy. In addition, she will be engaged in design education in India, China and the US, bringing the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to the curriculum of design universities.

Michel Thomas

Michel Thomas (1914-2005) had an amazing life. Born in Poland, he spent his early years in Germany and then in France, where he studied psychology at the Sorbonne in Paris. When war broke out, he fought with the Resistance and suffered imprisonment in labour camps. At the end of the war he joined the US liberation army and later settled in the US where he established his world-famous language school. Languages, being his strength and passion became the focus of the next 50 years of his life that he spent developing a method that he hoped would change the way we teach and learn - so that everyone could succeed. He developed this method 'that works with the brain'. After creating several courses of his own, he passed on his method so that other teachers might use it too.

Omar Abbosh

Omar Abbosh is group chief executive of Accenture's Communications, Media & Technology operating group and is a member of Accenture's Global Management Committee. He has served as the global client lead for leading multinational companies where he advised client executives on major strategic issues for their businesses. Mr. Abbosh joined Accenture in 1989 and became a partner in 1998. He holds a degree in electronic engineering from Cambridge University and a master's degree in business administration from INSEAD.

Paola Tite

Paola Tite is a teacher of Italian, author of Italian language books and an editorial consultant. As a native speaker of Italian, Paola attended Michel Thomas's Italian workshops and recording sessions at Hodder & Stoughton, and became an enthusiastic follower of his approach not only to language learning but to teaching in general.
