Biographical Notes

Donald Sull is a global expert on strategy and execution in turbulent markets. He is a Senior Lecturer at MIT and was formerly Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School. He has published three award-winning books and ten best-selling Harvard Business Review articles. The Economist identified his theory of active inertia as an idea that shaped business management over the past century and Fortune listed him among the ten new management gurus. Kathleen M. Eisenhardt is Professor of Strategy and Organization at Stanford University. She received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Brown University, holds an M.S. in computer science and received a Ph.D. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. She also has several honorary degrees including from London Business School. She is the co-author (with Shona L. Brown) of Competing on the Edge: Strategy as Structured Chaos.

They have been working together on the ideas behind Simple Rules for over a decade.

A former senior editor at Forbes, Penenberg garnered national attention in 1998 for unmasking serial fabricator Stephen Glass of The New Republic. Penenberg's story was a watershed for online investigative journalism and is portrayed in the film 'Shattered Glass'. A journalism professor at New York University, Penenberg is the assistant director of the Business and Economic Program. He lives in New York.

Beppe Severgnini

Beppe Severgnini is a columnist for Italy's largest-circulation daily newspaper, Corriere della Sera and covered Italy for The Economist from 1993 to 2003. Clive Woodward

Clive Woodward was born in 1954. He was educated at HMS Conway in Anglesey and Loughborough University. He played rugby for Leicester, England and the Lions, and Manley in Australia. During his impressive business career Clive Woodward successfully coached Henley RFC, London Irish and Bath before being appointed the first National England coach. He memorably led the England rugby team to World Cup victory in 2003. He lives in Berkshire with his wife and three children.

John Humphrys

Kerry Daynes is a Forensic Psychologist.
