Kirsty Wark at Cambridge Literary Festival
Cambridge Union Chamber
04 Apr 2014
Television presenter Kirsty Wark has always impressed audiences with her ability to switch between grilling politicians and chairing debates about the arts and literature, moving from Newsnight and The Review Show with impeccable calm, in-depth knowledge and evident enthusiasm. Now she can add ‘novelist’ to her impressive CV with the publication of her first work of fiction, The Legacy of Elizabeth Pringle. Set on the Scottish island of Arran it tells the story of a woman who seems entirely ordinary – until her will reveals a startling bequest. Kirsty joins Alex Clark to talk about becoming a novelist, her career in television and, in this momentous year, her passionate loyalty to Scotland.
Times: 7-8pm. Tickets: £9/£11. http://www.cambridgeliteraryfestival.com/events/kirsty-wark/
